Terry Dullum is an award-winning journalist and one of the region’s most popular humorists, speakers and emcees. Terry was part of a newsroom that won a national Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the 1997 Red River Valley flood and an Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Award for team coverage in 2014.

Terry has entertained hundreds of audiences with his popular “Off The Record: The Dullum File Live” after dinner performances. Other program topics include “Dealing with the Media,” “Works for Me:  Stress Relief on a Deadline,” “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life” and the holiday offering “The Fruitcake Chronicles.”

Terry is a North Dakota native. He attended a one-room North Dakota school house, he is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and an army veteran.

He is a lifelong reporter who has covered more than 5,000 news stories during his nearly 40 years at WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks and WDAY-TV in Fargo. His award-winning human interest and feature stories have been seen on television stations around the country and on ABC's "World News Now.” His popular Dullum File video essays aired for more than 15 years on WDAZ and WDAY-TV.

His work includes coverage of Presidents Clinton, Bush, Reagan and Carter.  Among others, he has reported on visits to the region by Pope John Paul II, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.  He has covered a wide variety of musical events including tours by Lawrence Welk and the Rolling Stones.  As a reporter, he has run with the Olympic torch and flown with the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds.  In addition, he has interviewed celebrities like Martin Short, Steven Allen, Tony Bennett, Phyllis Diller and the Muppets.  He has also appeared on the episode of the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.

In addition to his speaking engagements, today Terry writes for a number of online publications including AreaVoices blog and the new Unheralded.fish blog. He is also active in community and charitable organizations including the Circle of Friends Humane Society and the Firehall Theatre in Grand Forks.
